On Sunday Sept 2 I contacted Verizon support via chat about an ongoing problem with my DSL connection. We went through all the normal waste of time troubleshooting and I finally got support to send me a new modem free of charge. I was told it would arrive in 2 to 4 days. As of today Sept. 9 I still do not have the new modem and my connection is still not working right. It seems as though Verizon could care less about its customers and just wants to take their money for substandard service.
