Activation

So I ordered a droid off The internet The other day and I went to activate it online and it wouldn't let me. The esn number is clean and everything. So I went on The droid and followed The setup instruction on The phone and I ended up activating it to The number to The person who had it before me. How do I go about deactivating that number and activating it to my number?

I believe that the previous owner has to release the ESN.

It sounds like whomever ordered the device never activated it on their account. They need to remove it from their account by adding an older device esn back onto the mobile number. That is the only way to do it.

It should already be not activated assuming the person has already deactivated it. The person will need to deactivate the phone themselves. Once that is all complete. You can activate the device easily by pressing *228 + send from the verizon phone. Press option 1.

The previous owner will need to release the device. Once it's been released then you can activate it by *228. The droid requires a $29.99 data package if you do not currently have the data package on your line.
