Will Verizon change the station line up in Onondaga County. I would like to see WPIX from NYC added to the current station list. I would like to see NYC news and the Mets on week ends.
Local channels have a local coverage area. Cable companies typically can not replace a local channel with a channel outside their local coverage area.
So if you can't pick up an OTA station with an antenna, it probably won't get it on cable.
WPIX is one of the channels qualifying as a Superstation. It is available on some cable networks and DISH. As with some other Supersations, its programming differs outside of the NYC area.
Fios keeps dropping channels. Highly unlikely they will add anything new.
