Univision is good for the community. It's also where to go for LigaMX games - you can't find those anywhere else.

I just read that Unvision and FIOS will be parting ways becuase according to FIOS Univision's costs to FIOS will go up by double and to tried to negotiated better pricing -- to no avail. Since FIOS will no longer pay Univision for it's services, I propose that FIOS reduce our monthly bills for the cost of Univision that it will no longer pay. Otherwise, consumers are paying for services not rendered.
If you don't carry Univision, I don't want your service!! And I should not be charged an early termination fee. I watch Univision affiliated channels ALL the time....without those channels I would have never signed up for two years!!!
It hard to say how much they pay.
Verizon's message states that subscribing to Univision Now (streaming service) at $5.99/month or $49.99/year is better deal than what they are being asked to pay for viewers.
But that is where the amth gets hard. Without knowing how many viewers FIOS has, hard to know how much the cost actually is.
If only 20% are regular viewers, could be less than a dollar a month (if they are comparing to yearly fee).

I understand the problem for Verizon RE: costs for keeping Univision. I hope we'll hear from them too. The network is having difficult times, so I can expect a rate increase, but not double at Verizon has claimed. My point is -- if we're not paying for a past service, we shouldn't be charge the same past rate. Yes, I want to see Unvision on our channel line-up. Maybe Verizon should assess which are the channels that people watch and reassess who they'll keep and pay for more popular ones.

I watch Foro TV and Galavision every morning to catch up with the Mexican news....Without these channels, I want change my provider, but I was told yesterday that I would have to pay a $180 penalty....THAT IS AN ABUSE!! I have to go through the hassle of changing companies because Verizon does not understand our preferences, and on top of that, I have to pay a $180 penalty!!! To think that Mexicans will switch to watching the Dominican channel is PURE IGNORANCE!!! IT SHOWS HOW LITTLE VERIZON UNDERSTANDS HISPANICS. Are all English-speakers the same??? No, right??? All Spanish speakers are also not the same. Each country has its culture and its viewing preferences!!!
Verizon, if you cannot reach a deal with Univision, then negotiate directly with TELEVISA!!! WITHOUT THE TELEVISA CHANNELS, MANY OF US WILL SWITCH COMPANIES...
FYI...UNIVISION IS NOT A MEXICAN COMPANY. I would much rather have the Televisa channels directly, like the rest of Latin America...But it appears that there is an oligopoly between Univision and Televisa in the USA, so we cannot get most Televisa channels directly....we have to get only the pieces that Univision buys from them....

I don't see how verizon can hold anyone to an early termination fee. By eliminating channels that were part of the original agreement they themselves have broken the contract. Verizon needs to either lower the monthly costs or waive the early termination fee for its customers.
I'm another dissatisfied customer with the removal of Univision and partner stations.

I was told same thing today. FIOS is the one that is breaking the contract not us. I won't pay any penny to close my account. I can go online to Better Business Borough of New York, an entity that mediates on behalf of customers.
You go on their website and complete a complaint about what they are doing to us the HISPANIC community. Our dollars have a voice too! Do not let them intimidate you.

Hope the FTC pays attention to the effects of the monopoly they have allowed with Univision....That said, Verizon is also taking advantange. I spent over an hour on the phone yesterday trying to get my cancellation fees waived. They said they had to escalate the request and that they would get back to me today. They promised to do so, and of course, they haven't called....I have no reason to stay with a cable company that does not carry the channels that I see, but I am stuck with a 2 year agreement!!!

We, the customers are being treated like a third party because we see Verizon is blaming Univision and Univision is blaming Verizon. To my knowledge this is not high school. I think Verizon and Univision should make a deal thinking about the customers not about what benefits each company. The bottom line here is, THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! As an spanish viewer, I definetly would like to have Univision channel. I missed the programs and would like to know as soon as possible whats going to happen. On the other hands, I dont understand how other cable carriers are not having the same problems. Hope that an agreement is settled as soon as possible, and Verizon doesn't loose quite a few spanish customers.
We should not be charged a termination fee due many of the channels had been eliminated . When i choose Verizon i did due the fact that the package i selected had a lot of channels i see in a daily basics. First they took Chiller out, now a lot of the univision channels too. I see thoses channels in a daily basics specially channel 41 and el rey channel 198. If we not getting them back is like a breach of contract. Us consumers we could file complains against our channel provides thru the FCC complain line and also thru US.Gov if our issues are not resolved due we are still being billed the same price for less channels. Please resolve this issue due me and my whole family we will cancell our services and move to another cable company were they offering thoses channels on a package. I already paying 16 dollars a month in addition to have some spanisn channels like wapa and others spanish programming. so include them on that package. I should not loose thoses channels.. I will contacting the fcc complain hotline now to see what they could do for us and where are the appropiate steps that us as consumers with a contract we should no go thru this of paying earlier termination fees.

I still have getTV - it must be the market you're in. I have noticed that I have channels showing up as removed that I never had access to in the past in my market (SE Virginia). I do think it is disingenuous of Verizon to keep deleting channels and yet saying customers who want to leave because of lost content have to pay an early termination fee. I'm going to read the contract I signed to see if they get to do that.
I think it's awful that Verizon removed Univision from its TV channel line-up. I am still so upset; I was really into the 9pm soap opera, "Mi Marido Tiene Familia". I am now researching other cable alternatives, as I would imagine this would be a loss of business for Verizon!

What the #$@# with the Univision lineup? I can 't believe Verizon just unplugged the service with no advance notice to customers like me. One thing is to be in the middle of contract negotiations; the other is the way they deal with their customers in such a cavalier manner. Verizon was disrespectful and injurious. Negotiate but don't user your customers as pawns, you jerks! If I don't see Univison back in the next coupld days, consider me gone. I'll be switching to Xfinity!

I been with Verizon for 4 years and been content so far. I even overlooked when they cancelled TV Azteca which we constantly watched but the cancellation of Univision is more than I can handle. If the service is not restored I will have no choice but to cancel Verizon. I hope they find a solution soon otherwise I will have to pull the plug

Do not put these channels on that will greatly increase my cable bill. If people want to watch Univision, let them buy a package to cover the increase Univision is demanding. Many people do not want these stations. We survived without The Weather Channel, we can survive without Univision!

The very least that Verizon can do for its customers is STOP charging the EXTRA $16 that we pay every month for the Spanish language package!!! I am extremely unhappy about the recent disagreement with Univision. My parents are longtime Verizon FIOS customers and up until this point we have been satisfied with the service, however, this disagreement has been disconcerting to us. My parents watch Univision every day. Though they do not watch tv much, some of their favorite, shows—Josue y La Tierra Prometida, Aqui y Ahora, Primer Impacto to name a few, are only offered by Univision. This week, while my mother and father got comfortable and ready to watch their show, Josue y La Tierra Prometida, they realized that Univision was no longer offered. I watched how my father tried to solve the issue and thought that it was a mistake.. only to find out that it had been cut. My parents look forward to their shows and though you may have other “Latino” networks nothing compares to Univision. You cannot simply expect people to watch another network they are not used to watching just because the network is Spanish speaking. This network provided my parents an outlet from the outside world, it provided them with something that was fully catered to them, and you have taken that away. For others it may be a network, but for many Latinos like my parents it provided comfort, a time in which they could just watch tv, and spend time as a family. My parents had a routine, work, dinner, and watch THEIR shows, now they can no longer do this. I would highly would highly suggest you reconsider and negotiate instead of giving up and throwing a temper tantrum.
It would have been nice to receive notice and even nicer for you and Univision to reach an agreement. I understand that YOU want for the consumer US to pay less, but why not try to reach an decision peacefully instead of completing shutting the network? Why not warn YOUR customers or better yet, reach an agreement!
According to your website, I can get a $5.99 credit—is this what you are paying Verizon currently? Instead of thinking about YOUR pockets, you should think about the people that are paying you and not make rash decisions. After being your customers for such a long time, the least you could do is communicate with us. After many year of your service, we are strongly considering a new carrier. I just recently renewed and feel that I should be able to get out if the contract without early termination fees or get a reduction in my bill not just the one time $5.99 credit. When I called Verizon the agent suggested that I get an antenna and watch TV that way in addition to using Verizon. Priceless, go pay for additional equipment so you can watch it outside of what I am already painting for. I don't need Verizon if that is the resolution. Ironically at the end of our conversation she wanted to sell me more services!!! There are no words.

So dissapointed, this just makes the decision to drop the the service that much easier, contract or not. The reason I renewed was becasue that I enjoyed univisions product, and the fact that it is gone and Verizon doesn't feel the need to compensate me for that loss - whatever their check was to see if I qualified was not sufficient and probably self serving for verizon. Although I have 200+ channels, mostly CRAP by the way, there were only 5 or so I actuallly I watched regularly and that just got a lot smaller.

I recently learned that Univision and Unimas Spanish language channels were removed from verizon listing b/c they are asking more than double what they charge for access to their channels. Awesome! Please Verizon, don't pay one penny to them. Univision is the worst Spanish speaking channel on TV, even for Mexican standars. All the show is old movies and programs like Cantinflas(1950's) and el Chapulin Colorado (1970's), and **bleep** telenovelas (soap operas) all day, and I mean the entire day starting around 9:00AM to 12:00AM.
They don't want to spend money on more recent movies or educational/learning programs, like Telemundo, what a big difference, they show American movies in Spanish which helps more into undertanding and learning the culture. And these channels are only seen when you don't speak or understand English, b/c once you start picking some English, you just want to watch English American channels.
I got the Spanish language package mainly to watch the soccer channels and also to stay connected with my culture, but Univision is not worthy believe me, not for our culture, not for anyone who looks for enterteiment and learning at the same time.
I checked with verizon to see if I watch univision at least 2 hrs a month and qualify for those $5.90 credit, and I can't believe it I did! It must has been the soccer game USA vs Mexico. I will not take those $5.90 and you don't get Univsion back, please! It's a waste of money and a waste of brain usage. Thanks
Y se los digo en nuestro idioma, Univision es lo peor que puede existir en TV, es un retraso para nuestra cultura y nuestra gente, no les importa invertir para darnos mejores programas y quieren mas dinero. Why was chanel 495 removed. I was a good chanel and are we getting credit for the removeal. After all WE PAY for these chanels.
