I went to a Verizon store on March 11, 2023 and was told by the employee there that I'd be able to get $1000 credit to buy a new Samsung S23 Ultra if I trade in my old Samsung S20 Ultra. I sent my old phone via the box that they gave me which according to UPS tracking arrived on March 15, 2023. Yesterday, I received an email from Verizon stating that they were only going to give me $175 for trade-in credit because they received a different phone. This is ridiculous as I submitted my old phone that was checked by the Verizon store employee. I would not have traded in my old device for mere $175 as it was working perfectly fine. I called Verizon customer representative who told that it was going to be fine and that the techs there probably made a mistake. However, I just received an email now stating that I have been completely disqualified. My next month bill shot up almost $100 more than usual, and Verizon is ripping me off. They lied to me. If this does not get fixed, I am going to fight via FCC.
