Missing Text Messages

A person sent me important text messages today at 10:04. I did not get them. They say sent and are in blue on the person's phone.

I got a different message at 10:40 saying I ignored the text.

The person also suspects that I deleted the messages.

I did not.

Any help with this?

Are these missing text in a cue somewhere?

This definitely sounds strange. Have you tried asking the original sender to send you the messages again? If this an isolated incident or do you know of any other texts you haven't received?
