I’ve had the G3100 for almost 2 years now and I can not figure out why I am limited to just two moca devices (G3100 and GOCOAX). I’ve been checking around my 3200sqft home and we have more coax jacks than I care to count. I checked outside where the junction box has a splitter pushing coax to 4 different places in my home. The main issue I’m having is I have a GOCOAX device on the second floor. The ONT with G3100 is on the first floor. When I hook-up moca to my office PC it’s fine. I decided to add another GOCOAX in the basement for my tv setup. That basement device will not recognize moca. Even stranger part was I decided to try and connect the moca device inside my bedroom (this is where one of the coax cables is coming directly to an out from the junction box). I plug in the device and it powers up showing power and moca, I goto my office and it booted my moca device off the network. This also happens when I hook it up in the basement. If I unplug my moca device in my office while the moca is plugged in in my basement the basement device powers on. Also, I’m on Fios Ethernet with gigabit connection. I’m maybe getting 400/380 if I’m lucky. This is so baffling to me because my old house was wired with coax and I used a g1100 that gave me immediate 940/800 connection with no issue. I’m not sure what the problem is. Here’s a brief layout of how my coax is connected:
ONT->G3100->coax out of g3100 to wall jack
office: wall Jack coax to GOCOAX->Ethernet to 5 port switch-> Ethernet to pc.
The switch didn’t make a difference. I was trying to consolidate multiple devices. I used to have the E3200, but it was too bulky and took up space.
Any insight would be helpful because I’m clueless.
