Dangerous Low Hanging Wires

We have a low hanging Verizon wire over the private road leading to our home. Delivery trucks are unable to reach our home because of the drooping wire and we are worried that a fire truck or ambulance would not be able to access the house, either. We are no longer Verizon customers and the wire has been neglected and now poses a threat. Can anyone advise on how to get the wire removed? Can we get a case opened through this forum? Thanks
