Device Payment Buyout Charge

I have a charge of $311.44 on my account stating it is a device payment buyout charge. I was not advised of any such agreement when purchasing my new iPhone 13 and Apple Watch SE. I was told that with the purchase of my IPhone 13 that the Apple Watch SE price would be at a 50% discount, and that I would make monthly payments accordingly for each device. Why has this occurred with no warning or notice. It is quite unprofessional to tell a customer how billing will work, and then it going completely different.

I'm having a very similar issue.We were told if we upgraded our phone to a new iPhone 15 that we got a the phone $4200 and we've got the tablet for free now.We've got a bill on our Verizon.Bill stating that now we owe 800 and something dollars because of the tablet for a buyout charge.That is definitely not what we were told. We are extremely furious and need someone to explain why we are being screwed over. As a verizon customer since 2009 this is sick.

Why would I get a one time buy out plan charge when Verizon told me that they were buying out my old phone if I traded it for a new one?

Thanks for your comment. The device trade in is done in consideration of the promotional discounts you receive off the cost of the new phone. The discounts are applied in 36 equal installments to cover the monthly cost of the new phone. If the new device contract ends before the 36 month period ends, the discounts end and you will be responsible for the remaining actual cost of the new phone. Closing your account or disconnecting the service will cause the new phone promotion credits to end. This information is spelled out in the disclosures that you sign at the time of the device purchase.-Ross

Same with me. I even spoke with a so-called "executive" named Wally and he cut me off and blatantly interrupted me every time I tried to speak. These people are disgusting. Can't wait to see their ship sink. Filing complaints with consumer rights companies against them as we speak.
