voip encryption

is voip encrypted? I would like to switch to voip but I am using a Whooze Caller box that integrates with my Future Point of sale system. The Whooze calling box will only accept unencrypted signal? Is Verizon VOIP compatible with the Whooze calling box?

Assuming you have small business Fios and do have a VoIP line. The VoIP used by VZ is pretty standardized and could be used by a third party device that also uses a standardized VoIP protocol.
