HI,
Over the past year or so, I've lost the ability to send or receive texts several times. Because there is no indication that my texts are not going out and that there are texts I'm not receiving, I often miss important communications. The only way for me to find out is when someone calls or asks me why I'm not responding to their texts, or I call someone when I don't get a response.
This has probably happened 5 or 6 times in the past 12-18 months.
When I am forced to talk to the automated system, it is useless. When I talk to a person, they usually act as if I have no idea what I'm doing, even after I explain that this has happened before. I understand that users have different levels of understanding when it comes to mobile devices so, while frustrating, I understand this part.
But no one seems to be able to explain why this happens. They are able to fix it by doing a "system refresh" or "network refresh" which is meaningless. And it can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 12+ hours for things to resolve once they tell me they've done whatever they're doing on the back end.
Has anyone else run into this situation, and if so, have you been given an adequate explanation of why? I've been with Verizon for an embarrassingly long time, but this is going to be the straw that broke the camel's back for me if they cannot supply a reliable SMS service. SMS is ancient in the tech world. Being unable to provide a stable texting environment is unacceptable.
