I have a Samsung Galaxy 21+ and when I try to return calls to local numbers it is showing that I am trying to make international calls. It has happened multiple times to different numbers in the last week. Is there a glitch with the latest update?
Great question! We need your help to get to the bottom of this so you can make those calls. Is dial assist turned on? Where is your current location? Let’s work together to address this issue today. Please reply to the following Private Note to get started. We are eager to get your answers.

I am having the same problem. I call back a number IN THE SAME CITY and I'm told I'm calling an international number and I may be charged extra. How do I fix this? I've only had the S24+ for a week and this has happened twice.
Hey there, pampalmer60, we want to help ensure you are able to make calls. When did this issue start? Is this happening with particular numbers? When calling the number, is it going to a 10-digit number?
-Lauren
Getting same message I believe on every out going call.
I am having the same problem. I am in Iowa and tried to call New York and I got the same message as others.

Hey there, sorry you've been getting that message. Is it still occurring? If so, how were you dialing the number from the other state?
-John
I am having the same issue with my Samsung device
It's some kind of formatting error. Does it still happen if you dial 1, then the area code, then the phone number?
Check to see if wifi calling is on? Also check roaming. Hope this helps!
Hey there, MattWhistler85, we want to ensure you're able to make calls without a problem! When did this start happening? Are you receiving this message with every call you try to make? When placing calls, are you using a 10-digit dialing pattern?
1 of my lines is also having the same issue. Tryng to call someone who is and has been a long time contact.
That is definitely unusual, but we'll be glad to help out. Have you tried manually dialing the number? When did this issue start?
~Freddy
When did dialing 1 ever become an issue with cell phones?
Has anyone been able to resolve this? I tried chatting with Verizon and they told me I had to contact Google.
The only thing I could find elsewhere was to try changing your home country in the phone app settings (assuming it's not something on Verizon's side). Google "local calls showing as international Android [or iPhone, if you have an iPhone]" for instructions.
I appreciate the help. I checked my phone settings and I am set to United States. I don't have problems when making calls through the phone app. Only if I get a text through Google Messaging and try to call them instead of texting back.
You're welcome. If it's only happening when you try to call a number directly from Google Messages, is it for every number in all your texts, or only some numbers? If it's every time you try to call a number from a text, then I'd contact Google's support about it, or check if the app needs to be updated. I also use Google Messages, but don't use that direct calling feature from texts that much...but when I have, it's worked properly for me.
If it is only some numbers from a text which are giving you an "international call" warning, my suspicion is that there's an issue with the originator of the text - if a business is using a bot to send out text reminders with phone numbers embedded in it, there's some kind of formatting issue going on with the bot where Google Messages thinks it's an overseas number? I read a different thread a little while ago where someone reported calling or texting issues because the business had things set to be coming from a phone extension number only and not the full number as an example.
We want to make sure that you get the help you need and will need to more information. We are sending a private note.
