Apple Watch SE messaging problem

Can someone answer this for me please. If my Apple Watch SE has its own line, its own number, and is cellular enabled, can it send and receive text messages if my iPhone is off or not paired to it? Because it will make and receive phone calls but it won’t send and receive texts

Great question! The Apple Watch uses a feature called NumberShare which means that although it has its own line, it will only send calls and text messages as if it was being sent through the phone's number. Does this help? ~Geo
