iMessages suddenly stopped sending

iPhone 8 Plus and generation 2 ipad. Both worked same when I changed carriers from Verizon to Mint. On Monday 10/2 messages stopped sending and receiving on my ipad. iPhone and ipad are linked and WiFi calling is enabled. So what happened on Monday and how do I fix it?
