Verizon Orbic Journey flip - UK Sim in the USA

Hi there-
Does the Verizon Orbic Journey flipphone still get good / decent / OK coverage for texts and calls on 4G in Florida?

I am a Brit about to travel to Florida and want to use this phone for texts and calls rather than any smartphone.

Secondly, will my paid-for UK sim that I'm using on giffgaff, an O2 company - which says it will cover texts/calls on my travel to the US - work well to receive and make calls/texts with the phone/4G in Florida also? Even if it's not a Verizon sim? This is my only option as setting up/adding money to a Verizon sim seems to bemuch too difficult and lengthy a process in these circumstances of travel.

I only want to use texts and calls and it is essential this works OK.
