Receiving low quality video messages iPhone 15 on 5G

Why am I receiving low quality iMessage videos on 5G from another iPhone 15? Checked that both phones are not on low quality mode. Sender on WiFi, receiver on Verizon 5G uw. Half the reason I gave in and got an iPhone was because I was tired of receiving low quality videos on my Android for all the iPhone users out there.

We definitely want to make sure that you receive any videos in the quality that's convenient for you. Please tell us, what messaging app are you using? How long is the video trying to be sent? ~Geo

Thanks for those details. Does the video appear in high quality in the camera roll on the sender's phone? Is the sender able to send the video over cellular as opposed to WiFi?

Yes, the video is high quality in their camera roll. And yes, I was able to receive it in high quality when they tried to send it over 5G. But why would that be? We have AT&T high-speed fiber, and they were right next to the WiFi router with excellent signal. Our 5G and LTE reception is not very good at home, so we prefer to use WiFi.

Additionally, I’ve been having a problem today of my phone dropping calls on 5G (not at home)… initially I would show a strong 5G signal, but randomly it would show no service and drop the call. It would not automatically switch to LTE even with 5G in auto mode. I had to manually select LTE to complete my calls.
