Why isn't my automatic cloud backup working?

I have all my settings on my Samsung Galaxy A53 set as instructed to have my photos, contacts, etc. backed up nightly, yet whenever I look in the Cloud App the backup has not worked, and I need to initiate it manually.

Any ideas on why that might be?

I have reviewed your VZ Cloud subscription, based on what are system's are showing you can access and utilize VZ Cloud.

Should you have any issue's moving forward, we suggest making sure the VZ Cloud application is up-to-date, than verifying the below settings.

Toggle
open the Verizon Cloud app and in 'Settings - Upload Settings" ensure that each desired data class is selected, and that there are no alerts for required permissions. The Cloud App must have security permission on the device to access storage, as well as Camera, Contacts, and other sections in order to backup the selected content.

For Auto-Save on media with Verizon Cloud we are limited to certain folders on the device:

Photos/Videos - Only content in the following folders will autosave: Camera, Pictures, movies, SD Card (root). Media in Downloads, other apps, private folders, or custom locations would need to be manually selected and the 'Share' feature used to share to the Cloud app.
Documents - May be anywhere on the device's internal storage
Music - Music Folder
Contacts - Contacts App (Background Sync, meaning each time you save a change that same change is silently reflected in the Cloud App)
Call Logs/Messages - These backup from the respective databases in the device. Note that the saved messages are not visible in the Cloud app and must be restored to be seen again. Tapping on the button "View Messages" or "View Calls" will launch that app on your device and show you only what is currently on the Device.

Gallery and Cloud storage look different
the device's Gallery app is expected to show different content than what we have saved in the Verizon Cloud, as that App can show all media on a device and the Cloud App's auto-save will only check a few specific folders on the device (Pictures, Movies, Camera (DCIM)). If these videos are in the downloads folder, of saved from FB Messenger, Instagram, etc, or moved to a custom folder on the SD card or in the device, then the user will need to manually select the video(s) and tap on the 'Share' icon. Select "Verizon Cloud" as the target of the share and they will be uploaded to the Cloud App's storage.
