I left a support ticket in today, then dug into the details.
Recently rejoined Verizon for the entire family, only to find at our home in heavily populated Newton MA that whilst we get signal bouncing between 5g and LTE 1-3 bars, no data is available.
T-mobile was outstanding in our village.
Neighbors likewise complain of terrible Verizon mobile service- though our streets are lined with Fios!
I dug into iOS 17 on our new iPhone 15's and discovered that lo and behold, our neighborhood is covered with Verizon towers, but everything within a 1,000 yard radius is reaching 6 miles away to a tower three towns away in Dedham. eNBID 57067. No matter the highest field in the village with line of site to a 5g verizon tower just 1/4 mile away.
No matter LTE or 5g hundreds of households near me report the same lack of data coverage!
If I go over to the tower less than 1/4 a mile away all is perfect. We are not in a valley or anything like that, indoors or outdoors no difference.
Very frustrating for us and all our affected suburban neighbors. Cellmapper.net is an excellent resource to track down tower locations if you are also affected.
Please network engineers, fix the signal!
