DDNS Setup Success with Fios G1100 router?

I am trying to set up my G-1100 router with DDNS and am about 99% through the process; I've got the account with easyDNS, and know to use the token (not the actual easyDNS password). But, something is preventing success. Has anyone else had luck setting up DDNS (Dynamic DNS) with the G-1100 router? for example -- is the Hostname the url of my newly created domain on easyDNS? Thanks in advance for suggestions.

I have having similar difficulties. I had successfully used easydns for a long time, then several months ago it stopped working. Nothing changed as far as I can tell. When I attempt the setup with an incorrect username/password, it tells me I have bad credentials. When the username & password are correct, it tells me failed "Incorrect hostname" - but the hostname is 100% exactly what the cname entry in easydns is.

I am not very experienced to DDNS on Fios routers, because these features are really considered secondary and I believe they are not being actively maintained. The G1100 is also near End of Life, so further restricts new development on it.

Typically how I would approach a changing WAN IPv4 is to setup the server behind your router to periodically pull your domain name registrar. Typically domain name registrar would provide a secure URL GET based way of polling new host names. Your WAN IPv4 is always associated with a Fios host name, so all you really need is a CNAME entry at the domain registrar's DNS management system.

If I go to a site like "http://whatismyhostname.com/" then I can find out my IP address and Verizon hostname (which containers the IP address in the hostname). I get that I can find out what this is, but how do I change the cname or DYN record at easydns?

This being a windows server, I discovered, at one point, there was a windows program that would do this automatically, but it has since been discontinued.

Is easyDNS your domain registrar? Your Verizon host name could be found via reverse DNS lookup. Then periodically renew a CNAME entry pointing your domain name towards your Verizon host name.

Btw, I never used Windows Server because the license cost is too expensive for my budget. If there is no program to do the periodical pulling, just code one yourself and couple to the Task Scheduler.
