ASK-NCQ1338FA IP Passthrough Lease Time

When IP Passthrough is selected, the lease time of the DHCP addresses is only 1 minute. This means that every 30 seconds, or so, the Verizon device and my attached router do the DHCP negotiation. This seems like quite a bit of overkill and I don't see where it can be changed.

Ideas anyone?

I have attached the settings page that shows the 1 minute DHCP lease time, which I cannot change. I also have log entries from the Verizon device and my router. I realize that it probably does not hurt doing this but it must have some impact on performance.

This is the log of my router attached to the ASK-NCQ1338FA in IP-Passthrough mode. The routers wan port is on Lan 2 of the ASK-NCQ1338FA. When my router gets an IP from Verizon the lease that is being assigned to my device is only a 1 minute lease and the reason my device asks for a new IP every 30 seconds due to the configuration from Verizon. Can an official Verizon rep let us know this is correct?

The most recent test is 183Mbps down and 23Mbps up. The speed often slows down in the evening.

I have 5G Home Plus.

Why would the lease time be set so low? What is the rationale?

Thank you for the additional information, Casarodante, at this time there is not a way to change the configuration. Are more people/devices connected and being used in the evening?

Not in our household, but given this is a cellular-based service, it makes sense that a slowdown happens as other households start ramping up usage when they come home from work/school.

I am having this same issue. every 30 seconds for a renew of an IP Address when in pass through mode is WAY too short and needs to be configurable. It is one device connected and there is only 1 address in the address distribution on the VZ router, no need to be shorter than 10 minutes or even 24 hours.

The IP/gateway address of the Verizon router can/may change often. I agree on Verizon with having it set to one minute. My ASUS router handles this without issue. I'd update your outdated equipment.

Yall would complain your internet is down for the four minutes while your equipment gets the new IP address and gateway if a tower switched, or other situations.
