Disappearing loyalty discount

Two days ago the Verizon employee at the store told us my daughter could get a discount on a new iPhone. We went back today to purchase the phone and he told us the loyalty discount had disappeared. How is this possible? If it's a loyalty discount why would it go away? Technically, we are two days more loyal than we were when we first went in. How do we get that discount?

I know how important it is to be able to get the best deal on a new phone, Geddylee1. Especially a loyalty discount, as they tend to be targeted at accounts where a discount may not normally be available. Like all of our promotions, they can end at anytime without notice.
