Prepaid and phone # changes

I have recently moved cross-country, and would like to get my phone set up to a number that will have the area code in which I am now living. How do I go about doing this? I am certain that most employers are not going to wish to call a prospective employee whose Area Code is different from the local. (My phone area code is 402 *Eastern Nebraska*, but I am living in Springfield, MA *413 Area Code*)
