$5 plus $5 in optional surcharges is $10, not $5.
I recently had a smartwatch added to my line. The sales rep assured me it would only cost me an extra $5 a month because it would be sharing a line with my phone. I was told it was only $5 and no extra fees. I just got my first bill and I am now being billed $5 a month and sure enough $5 plus $4.90 in fees and taxes, most of which are just surcharges Verizon tacks on there because they want to, not some mandatory government regulation.
Why can't Verizon be more transparent with their pricing? I complained on the online chat and they once again affirmed that I am only being charged $5. Should I just not pay the other $5? Is there any reasonable way for me to break out of the 36 month contract I agreed to? I'm angry that the sales guy straight up lied to me about the cost and there being no other fees and I can't seem to get anyone on chat, email, or on the phone to help make this right.
