CR1000a as main router with 2 G3100 as externders

I received a new CR1000a as part of the new promotion. I set it up as my main Router connected with ONT via Ethernet and also coax cable which then runs through my house.
I have 2 G3100 routers which I’m using as extenders. I changed the IP addresses (different IPs for both G3100) on G3100s disbaled Ethernet broadband, Diabled DHCP and added static IP and MaC of both G3100s to my CR1000a. One G3100 has the same SSID as main router and the other has a different one. I kept it different for my office use.

The problem is G3100 with different SSID keeps rebooting on its own.

can I use 2 G3100s as extenders with CR1000a or no? If I can is there anything additional I need to do after changing IP address, disabling DHCP?

I am trying to configure a G3100 as an extender to another G3100 router. I have read other info here but am not able to get it to work. I end up with a yellow light. I am connecting the G3100 via coax from my garage to my living room.

Here is what I have found out so far... they point to a guide here... saying just do this... but something is missing. I hope to figure it out and document it so everyone trying to do this doesn't go through what we are going through!

Tell me if you figure out anything... Here are my notes from other discussions. I stayed up till 3AM last night trying to get it to work... I actually did have internet access at one point from both routers but they acted a bit wonky via the web interface... Not sure how much to expect it to be just like using an extender E3200.

First tried these suggestions... my notes in <>

"To make it an extender you'll need to login and click Advanced then Network Settings, Network Connections, Network (Home/Office). In those settings you'll want to disable DHCP server and change the default gateway from 192.168.1.1 to something like 192.168.1.2 and apply.

<problem here is default gateway is set to 192.168.1.2? Using E3200, the G3100 provides IP, netmask, gateway via DHCP to the E3200...can't find where to set these on my G3100-"extender".>

You need a computer connected to the G3100(extender) in a standalone fashion, meaning, besides the computer, no other devices should be connected to the G3100 either wired (through Ethernet or Coax) or wirelessly. The computer can be connected to the G3100 either wired or wireless. Make sure your computer has an IP address in the 192.168.1.0/24 subnet. Then go to 192.168.1.1 and type in the admin password upon prompt.

You cannot configure the G3100 while connected to the rest of your home network. Doing so would create an IP conflict and mess up your entire network.

This is a funky interactive thing... you follow the steps in the area above the steps... I figured it out and here are the steps:

Bridging Fios-G1100 into an existing network (hereafter simply called bridging) is NOT officially supported by Verizon. Any issues arising from this setup will NOT be handled by Verizon Support. You can, however, ask for help on this community.

This interactive guide is for demonstration purpose ONLY. It NEITHER emulates NOR affects the operation of your Fios-G1100.

1. disconnect all devices, whether through Ethernet, coax, or WiFi, from Fios-G1100, except the computer that you plan to access Fios-G1100's web graphical user interface (GUI).
2. disconnect WAN Ethernet or WAN coaxial cable from Fios-G1100. The front globe LED should now illuminate red.
3. confirm that you have sucessfully set up another primary router. The primary router has Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) enabled.

After logging into the G1100, click "My Network" tab in the main navigation bar.

Click "Network Connections" tab in the left submenu.

Click "Network (Home/Office)" hyperlink in the Network Connections section.

Click "Settings" at the bottom of Network (Home/Office) Properties.

Under General section, change "IP Address" to one that has not been assigned. For example, if your main router uses 192.168.1.1, you can change the "IP Address" to 192.168.1.254

Under IP Address Distribution section, change the dropdown "IP Address Distribution" to "Disabled."

Click "Apply" at the bottom of the page to apply the changes. Notice: Router GUI may disconnect. You need to use the new IP address to access the GUI.

You have finished the Fios-G1100 bridging guide.

You can now connect an Ethernet cable between a LAN port of the Fios-G1100 and a LAN port of your primary router. If you are bridging the G1100 with a G3100 or a CR1000A/B, you can connect a coax cable between them.
