Hoping for some kind of path forward.

Is it possible to obtain a station number (last 4 digits) of my choice?

If not, is it possible to obtain a number from elsewhere and port the number to my phone?

If that is not possible, at one time it was possible to easily change the last 4 (or 7) digits to a new random number. Is this still possible? I used to manage 17,000 VZW devices for work, and I was able to do these things, but it's been several years since I tried and I know things have changed.

I had the question above. I went to NumberBarn and that was the cheapest place to purchase a number. What other sites wanted $200 per number, Numberbarn wanted $5-$49 for most, and a few premium numbers went higher.

Once I bought the number and VZW started the porting process, it took maybe 3 days for the number to port, although having managed 18,000 cellular devices for work, this can take as much as 10 days. Keep an eye on your email when the porting process starts. If the VZW rep puts in a wrong account, you won't likely see the email (I'm guessing). If they put in the wrong PIN, you should get an email quickly stating such, which is what happened to me. Quick and easy fix.

Good question Taffer1970. When selecting a new number, we can assist with area code and available prefix, not the last 4. If you have a number you would like to port in currently active with another carrier, you can keep your same number. This can all be done online at Verizon.com.

I have the same issue but am not as well versed as you are. Is it possible to create a vanity number elsewhere and port it over? How is that done and does it affect service in any way?

Thank you for your response. If I have a POTS line, landline or wireline number I own, can I port this number to my VZW cell phone? Such as from Numberbarn.com?
