People calling my FIOS landline from T-mobile phones are randomly getting sent to other people's number!

For months, some people have been having trouble calling my FIOS landline.

Sometimes when they call me, they tell me that their call gets somehow shunted into a random person's voicemail.

Sometimes when they call me, my phone will ring, I pick it up and we are unable to talk to each other.

After much trial and error, I've discovered that people calling my FIOS landline from T-Mobile phones have this problem reaching me, but when calling me from Verizon land lines or Verizon Wireless lines, there is never such a problem.

I can actually consistently get this problem reproduced, if I ask a relative or friend with T-Mobile to try and call my land line.

Can anyone advise how to get this resolved?

This sounds like a database issue of some sort.

I have the reverse problem.

When I call telephone numbers supported by Comcast, my calls are sent directly to the called party's voice-mail even if the person is not using their phone line at that moment. This only happens when calling Comcast users and nobody else.

I figured out that my landline number is likely listed in some Comcast database that has me marked as a spammer, so instead of ringing telephones, I get dumped into voice-mail.

Because this isn't a Verizon issue they are unable to assist. Because I'm not a Comcast customer, they won't talk to me. Even if Comcast support would talk to me, they this sort of problem is beyond something they could handle themselves.

Getting back to this problem. Do the T-mobile users experience the same problem when calling other Fios landline numbers, or is it just when they call your number?

In response to your question - I have confirmed with three different people:

Someone calling from a Tmobile wireless
Someone calling from a cable-based landline
Someone calling from a Google Fi T-Mobile, and then later from a Google Voice phone (via Wifi)

All three people consistently report that their calls to my FIOS landline number don't go through (either ringing continuously, or being shunted to random other people's voicemail). All three people report that when they call my number from those phones it is the only number they have trouble reaching. But then if they move over to a spouse's Verizon mobile number, they get connected flawlessly. They all say that they have never had such trouble calling -any- other person's land or wireless numbers.

Was the telephone number in question ported from another provider to Verizon (Fios)?

No. It was forever a Verizon landline, and was one of the last copper landline holdouts on the block. But then we transferred it from Verizon copper landline to Verizon FIOS landline.
