My husband and I arrived in Mexico and thought our phones would work here either via travel pass or free since unlimited says it includes Mexico. We are grandfathered into older plans - I have Do More Unlimited and he has 5G Do More. But upon arrival we both got a text indicating we were on a pay as you go plan

Obviously we were not going to pay 2 dollars per MB. We tried activating Travel Pass and it said it was "unavailable". Ultimately we purchased a local sim card but we are confused... shouldn't our plans include Mexico & Canada talk, text & data. Tried calling the Verizon international help line and it just put me through loops and hung up on me.
