My wife and I recently switched from pre pay to post pay. However, we were never able to link our mobile number in the My Verizon account. We can actually see the mobile numbers listed under "Select a Line" to be linked after supplying the account number, including the phone model info. However, clicking on the line leads to the error message of "That mobile number cannot be linked. Please make sure you’ve entered the correct mobile number. If you’ve already linked your service, Sign In." We contacted the corporate store staff who set up our post pay account, and according to him (he called customer service on our behalf), our mobile numbers are still linked to the pre pay accounts. I don't know how to make sense of that, since the pre pay accounts are already terminated. Feels like the mobile numbers are in a limbo state. Because of this, we cannot set up auto pay, and have to pay $20 extra per month...
