Verizon Internet Gateway WNCCR200A and AnyConnect VPN

Hi, I just recently switched to Verizon for my internet in February. I use Cisco Secure Client VPN for work. I notice when on VPN my upload speed is at 0. I will get around 75Mbs downloads, but 0Mbs for uploads.

Has anyone seen this before and have any suggestions before I change my provider?

You would know if you have IP passthrough on. It sounds like you do not - but under the router advanced network settings (I have an ASK, so don't know the exact settings)

You might have to try some different MTU settings. https://community.verizon.com/t5/5G-Home-Internet/Verizon-5g-Internet-Cisco-Anyconnect-and-PALO-ALTO-Global/m-p/1741876 or a "VPN MTU" search in the Verizon forums.

I had to change my TCPMSS setting in my router for optimal performance.

Unfortunately this does not tell us much.

What router do you have? How are you connected? Wifi/Ethernet/etc. Are you using IP passthrough?

VPN's have multiple modes, but two are split tunneling (Your work IP goes through the VPN, internet pages do not) And full tunnel (Which everything goes through the VPN). Do you know what yours is? (Does the IP address change on the speedtest page when you run the speedtest on VPN is an easy way to check)

Speedtest's aren't useless, but I wouldn't trade ISP's based on it. What problem are you trying to solve?

VPN is full tunnel. They monitor everything.

All my applications are extremely slow and freezes when I have the VPN on. Especially uploading files to a share drive or my work one drive. Attaching files are a bear too and soemtimes they will fail.

If I use my phone as the hotspot I can run everything fine.

Trying to figure out if I can set something in my settings speed it up.

Thank you for the insights. Please tell us a little more, have you tried to restart your Gateway? Is the software up to date?
