Why am I getting a text from McAfee saying they’re gonna shut my phone off I’m not understanding
Most likely a spam message. Best to disregard, especially if you don't subscribe to any McAfee services such as their Anti-Virus.
Haven't heard anyone else reporting this problem. This sounds like smishing? If your phone had truly been hacked, you'd be noticing strange things occurring with it methinks. Verizon isn't going to shut off your service unless you're past due on the bill.
