Death of Account User with phone under BOGO contract

Question

My husband and I purchased 2 iPhones using the BOGO special when the iPhone 15 Pros came out.  He passed away.  There is still a balance on the phones.  (More than the resell amount it appears).  If I turn his phone back into Verizon instead of paying it off, what happens to my phone’s monthly credits under the original BOGO contract?

My condolences for your loss.  Usually, if you get out of a contract, all the credits would stop and you'd have to pay off your phone, but I'm hoping Verizon will make an exception in your case and restructure your arrangement where you are still on a contract with your phone only.  Sending you kind thoughts.
