Is there a way to view my child’s messages with their approved contacts on GizmoHub?

#gizmo Just figuring this all out and I was surprised to see that I cannot view my child’s messages with other approved contacts in the GizmoHub. Granted, these are all approved contacts so I’m not necessarily worried but would like to be able to view their messages once they add “Gizmo Buddies” to their contacts. Is there anyway to change this?

Staying on top of how our children communicate is a big part of making sure they’re being responsible and fostering good online habits. At the moment, the ability to view your child's messages sent to contacts other than yourself is not an included feature in the Gizmo Watch line of devices. The best way to accomplish this would be to view the messages directly from your child's Gizmo. You can do this by swiping left from the Watch screen to open the Contact List and selecting the contact you want to view the messages for.

That is not the case. I can only see my text messages with my child and the group I created with her father and I. No other text messages are available to view and I know she is in communication with other contacts. App is updated so that is not the issue.

Yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled but still no other messages are appearing in the Message Center.

I’m having the same problem. Please respond with the fix for this problem! I can’t see my son’s text messages to his friends who are in his contacts.

Please tell us, what is the make and model of the Gizmo device your child is using? Have you previously been able to view texts from other contacts? If so, when was the last time you were able to do this?

Has anyone seen this issue resolved? Just got a Gizmo 3 adventure watch for my daughter and can only view messages she sent me. I just downloaded the app so that’s updated. I updated the watch with the latest software. Still the same thing.

I have this same problem. I can see my text messages and a group chat with her other guardian. How do I view all messages from approved contacts??

When checking messages, you should be able to view messages sent and received between the GizmoWatch and the GizmoHub app. Is this what you are currently seeing? Are you looking to view messages from users assigned as caregivers?

Same problem here. I can only see messages I sent. I can’t see messages with any of his buddies or other contacts. Reinstalling the app doesn’t fix it.

I just purchased a Gizmo 3 last month. I've spent 4+ hours with Verizon support, both on calls and in a corporate store, on this topic and they have no answer for this issue. And they cannot provide me a timeline of when this will be addressed. The best response I've received is "if this is happening to other people, they will look into it and push out an app update". Another parent has told me that her son has a Gizmo 2 and at one point she could see his buddy messages but no longer can now. Now I'm no tech expert but seems to me that Verizon needs to look into the app and find out what's broken?!

This is not the solution as multiple people have said.

Thanks for the update, I will reach out to Verizon also because this is a huge concern to me. We are new to Gizmo and I had thought the feature was supposed to be there but am just realizing I can’t see anything but my messages. I’m submitting a tix with Verizon about this.

I think the only way we'll get this resloved is if enough people start creating tickets on this issue. I find it absurd that Verizon doesn't think this issue warrants immediate attention based on the few people who have submitted tickets. Clearly it's not user error since I was on with the corporate tech team member while in a corporate store.

I also cannot see any messages other than my own between my daughter and myself. Please help me solve this problem @vzw_customer_support

This needs resolved quick. We purchased the gizmo 3 thinking we could monitor all calls and texts. When will there be a resolution.

I just bought the gizmo watch 3 for my son for Christmas and I was under the impression I would be able to monitor the text messages from all approved caregivers. That is not the case I’ve found out after speaking with technical support. Will this ever be a feature?

The GizmoHub app will not provide the ability to see the child's messages. The app by design is for setting their contacts and locating the device/child. It was not designed to be able to monitor the content of text messages. I hope you find this information helpful

Wanting to follow this. Just got the my kiddos a watch 3 and I cannot view the messages I didn’t send myself.

We are sorry for the confusion. The Gizmo watch allows you to restrict the numbers that your child can contact. This means they can only call and message the numbers you allow in the app. You will only be able to see your personal messages back and forth in the app. To see messages from the other numbers you have allowed them to contact you would need to check the watch itself.

Hello. We bought a newer version gizmo and somehow I can’t see who or when my child texts/calls someone on his contact list. I could never see what was sent. Before (older watch) I could see this~~any ideas why this feature has been removed? It is frustrating as a parent to not see who they are calling/texting to help teach them(i e don’t keep calling/texting but wait for a response). Again I’m not wanting to see exactly what is being sent.

I'm curious as to how parents could previously see messages sent between gizmo buddies then? When shopping in the store for this watch, Verizon specifically said that the Gizmo watch allowed parents the ability to view buddy to buddy messages. I have friends who could see buddy to buddy messages previously. What changed?

This is not helpful advice at all. Please address the question asked….why the change? And will it ever be back to previous viewing?
