Bill adjustments

I was misled by several Verizon sales reps when I switched to a new plan. I was told it would apply to the current billing period. They also said a rep would be calling me back. It's astonishing how many sales reps make promises they cannot verify. Don't believe a word they say.

Hey folks, I just have to give a shout out for this community forum and results I have finally received from Izzy at Verizon who was able to follow through with a credit on my account as promised by 5 previous phone conversations with Verizon representatives over the last month. Stay with it, be respectful, and persevere. Honesty is the best policy. Clarity in communication is key. Cheers.

For future reference, plan changes should always be scheduled to start on the billing cycle date. It should never start immediately. If the changes are needed today, you should opt for back dating the change to the beginning of your current billing cycle. This is especially important if there is additional cost. You will have plan cost adjustment in the next bill to account for the cost difference.

If you don't need the change right now, schedule it to start at the beginning of the next billing cycle. The new cost will be reflected in the bill.

If the plan changes are done immediately you will be charged for a partial cycle and credited for partial cycle of the old plan cost. The partial cycle charges can end up more costly than having the changes occur on the billing cycle date.
