Hello everyone. I previously aske a question about finding internet activity using the router logs, but did not come up with a solution. Than you to all that contributed. This brought up another question, specifically about the System Log of my router. (G3100).
I have about 13 devices using my router, from printers to cell phones and computers. The activity on the system log is usually pretty consistent with the use of the devices. Printers and like devices show intermittent activity during the day, I'm assuming updates. And most of the cell phones and computers show appropriate activity when being used . I imagine the use being the internet, texting, etc. However, there is one device that is consistently showing activity all hours of the day and night. The user denies using the phone during certain hours but there is a lot of activity with the devices MAC address. At night when most users are not active, the log shows very little activity. A couple entries in a row and then nothing for hours. I imagine these are software updates and notifications not initiated by the user. However, what explains seven or ten entries in a row, in the middle of the night. As I said, the user denies being on the phone, but the activity shows different? The device is an iPhone 13 Pro, if that helps. Could these entries by background apps running? Do all iPhones show a lot of activity, even when the user is not active? The other devices are android based and only show a couple of activity entries at odd hours. Is there something obvious I am missing?
Thanks again for all your help!
