International plan versus global plan

Traveling to Italy in December. Am aware of TravelPass at $10/day and monthly plan at $100/month. My periodontist insists she and her daughter have used a $15/month International plan, calls from Italy to the U.S., but it's not listed on the Verizon website, and one has to call to ask for it. Is this true?

The $15 plan is voice calls only. There is also a $10 Global Choice plan, but that's calls only to one country. Travel Pass and the International Service Plan include a specified amount of data and you can text, so long as the country is included in Verizon's international coverage map.
