I was tricked into a contract in June of 23 (yes, over a year ago) when I walked into a Verizon store as a PREPAID customer to purchase a phone because I needed a new one. Jearmy told me about this promotion they had going, It was supposed to be a "promotion for long time prepaid customers" that wasn't a contract. I was told that I paid the state tax on the phone ($81.55) the rest of the phone was "on Verizon" I was advised that I would see a monthly CREDIT on my bill that and overtime the credits would equal thw $630 for the phone that was "on Verizon" after the state taxes were paid by me. I was SUPPOSED to have a 30 day warranty after which the insurance I opted to pay for would kick in, I would be eligible for a free upgrade (meaning I wouldn't have to pay anything for the upgrade other than the monthly payment they would bill me for getting the upgrade but the initial upgrade it's self would be free of charge after 6 months). Jearmy at the Oakati location assured me that there was "no catch" to this. Here I am over a year later, I have been being charged for said phone every month, can't even upgrade because they want me to pay the $357 & some change that they show is owed on the phone. I have my receipt from the day I purchased the phone SHOWING the $630 credit for the phone. I have spent COUNTLESS HOURS on the phone with Verizon (literally 8 hours on the phone with them JUST THIS WEEKEND and a total of 10 HOURS THIS WEEK). Today an agent helped with SOME of my problem but then what did she do to get me off of the phone after FOUR HOURS on the phone with her? She lied to me & mislead me into thinking she was doing me a favor when really she tricked & lied to me just like every other customer care & Verizon employee has done to me since JUNE OF LAST YEAR!!! This isn't even the half of it. I am so done & REALLY wish I knew who to contact to go over customer cares heads. I have asked for my issue to be escalated over TWENTY TIMES IN ONE PHONE CALL & they end up either 1. Hanging up in my face 2. Putting me on hold & leaving me there or 3. Lying to me YET AGAIN to hsr me off of the phone. I am NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER AT ALL and I have been with Verizon 10+ years even before getting tricked into signing a contract & paying for. "free phone after state tax is paid" what else can I do because I'm ready to cut ties with Verizon all together because this is really gross to be treated this way by so many Verizon employees & for so long
