My problem is twofold and I'm not sure where to go for assistance. I use text messaging on my phone very frequently and it's needed for my business (I run a regional non-profit). I noticed about 2 days ago, I began having issues receiving text messages. I will receive some messages but many are not coming through. It seems inconsistent and I cannot find a pattern of what is making it and what isn't. For what it's worth, I do have a second line (eSIM), also through Verizon and that seems to be receiving messages just fine. It's just my primary number.
So, doing what I'm supposed to, I try to correct the issue prior to contacting Verizon. I did a network (not phone, just the network settings) reset and this did not correct the problem. Verizon has a troubleshooting feature that can be utilized, however, one must be able to log-in to the account to get support. I am unable to log-in as I have 2 Factor Authentication enabled. This is a great security feature until you are unable to receive text messages. I cannot use 2FA since I am not receiving the text messages. Therefore, I cannot log-in to my account. I turned to the chat feature on the Verizon website for support and this too wants me to log-in to obtain any support. Again, no 2FA so I can't get past the log-in screen in chat.
I also didn't realize how many services I use that require 2FA because this loss of text messaging has caused quite an issue. For example, I cannot run payroll for our non-profit because I cannot log into the company we use as 2FA is useless if you can't receive the codes.
So, any solutions as to what may be happening and where to go from here?
