problem: There is not enough money on your account

I am on travel outside of US and I try to call out using wi-fi calling to US phone number (800) but i get the message "There is not enough money on your account", then it says it will transfer me to some payment center, but i hangs up. I am on prepaid plan (automatic credit card payment). I had no problem of using the service 6 months ago but now it does not work. How can I fix the issue?

I just found some reddit thread about the same problem and the suggested solution was: The answer is go to Verizon have them completely remove wifi calling from you plan and add it back on. The problem is on their end not your phone!

Hi, WiFi usage overseas is not free and incurs a Travel Pass charge. For prepaid customers, you must have funds loaded into your account beforehand which the system will deduct from in order to cover the daily Travel Pass charge, which I now believe is $12/day. Otherwise, your service doesn't work at all. A CS rep posted a few days ago in another thread that international servers are blocked from accessing the My Verizon login site for security reasons.

If there is another person currently in the US who is an Account Manager for your account, I'd try emailing them and asking if they can load funds into the account for you so you can activate Travel Pass. They also need to check that the Travel Pass option is active (not disabled).

If you are the only person on the account, check the .pdf file which I've attached in the link from Verizon's website below and see if there's a toll-free number for the country you're currently in to call International Services Support using a different phone. Otherwise, you will have to find a landline and pay for an international call using the number at the bottom right of the list (I think you have to dial "1" before the rest of that number before it'll work):

According to the link you sent, WiFi calls back to the US are free if you are abroad, but not any other calls. However, I've read posts from others in the forums saying they got huge bills after the fact when they used WiFi overseas. That could have been because they were using WiFi for something else and not calls to the US, or maybe they didn't have an international service plan on every line and then the people who they forgot to add the extra service used their phones. But I'm pretty convinced a foreign ISP will pass charges through to Verizon for overseas data use.
