DHCP start address

I now have the latest and greatest? WNC-CR200A modem

The DHCP address range is:

Normal setting

However:

This Puppy is dishing these addresses out

Granted I have not had the time to do the RT*M yet but,

Just wondering if the box is a return from a previous user, or some ROM device thinks 2 - 153 is dished out or reserved ?

Wondering If I must do the Reset on this puppy and perhaps risk the delicate brain surgery the Tech Gods / Godesses had to do with the EMEI and ICCID to allow this puppy to connect to the Cuckoo's command center.

Any idea's ? Anybody?

Unfortunately, your pictures don't show up in the discussion forums. I assume you're wondering why the IP addresses are distributed from a higher range in the IP pool (e.g., 192.168.1.180 gets assigned before 192.168.1.8)?

The short answer is that the hardware vendor for the router, or Verizon, made that decision. The algorithm in the firmware for the DHCP Server running on the router is choosing to allocate from the back half of the subnet first.

There's nothing wrong with assigning IP addresses from anywhere in the range, but I've always thought it was a bit odd whenever an ISP router does this, too.
