Landline Box in Yard needs Repair or Removal

Hello - there is a damaged metal, light green landline wiring exchange box across the street from my house that has been damaged and is open to the weather. It is also an eyesore. Please advise how it can be repaired, or, if it is obsolete, how/when it can be removed. Thank you.
