RCS Issue on S25 Ultra

Hello, I got the Galaxy S25 Ultra on February 9th and RCS Messages is not working on Google Messages. It keeps on saying "Setting up..." and it is not setting up, I am using eSIM on my S25 Ultra and I don't know if it is a Verizon issue or if the phone is too new that Google has to support the device. I do not know the exact solution for fixing it because I have already deleted the app's data, and it still has that issue. I also heard that other S25 Series users are experiencing the same issue.

I read something on my phone from a separate source on the internet saying that the latest Samsung phones don't have the latest software update (yet) so may be something to do with that. There's a toggle somewhere in the Google Messages settings to disable RCS, so then your phone uses the older SMS/MMS.

Same with me with my new VZW S25U. When you try and turn on, it says "Not Supported." Entirely unacceptable. I had to call support just to get the phone to recognize the eSIM. I suspect it has to do with that in some way.

When you select to turn off, it says it'll remove you from all RCS chats in 30 days and there's NO way to continue in a group messaging chat with it off.

I took have this issue. How does every other carrier support RCS but Verizon. Unacceptable. Maybe time to try another service. There's no advantage of being a long time customer anymore these days.... hopefully there's a fix soon...

I just got the S25+ and it happened to me.

Go into the Google messages app and uninstall the updates.

One you do that is will go back to your previous settings and enable RCS.

I'm having the same issue and this is how I work if I knew this I would have never came on to Verizon or ordered this phone

I have the same issue, the RCS settings say “setting up” and trying to verify my phone number.
Tried clearing the cache on the phone and app with no results. Spent an hour on the phone with Verizon tech support and still no change. Is there a resolution to this issue?

Several people have reported force stopping Google Messages, then checking the Google Play Store for updates (see second URL link below for details) works. It's not limited to Verizon, as users from totally different carriers and completely different Android phones report the same problem with Google Messages. This is something to do with your Google Account methinks.
