No longer seem to have a voicemail.

About 2 years ago i switched from StraightTalk to Verizon. I kept my number, but got a new phone and other devices. Since then I've never had a voicemail. I've tried using the assistant to reset pin, and have call tech support about it and nobody knows what to do.

The biggest issue about it is nobody can even leave me a voicemail. When other people call me it tells them "Welcome to the voicemail manager. Please enter your voicemail pin."

Any help on this would be much appreciated. I figure at this point the easiest thing to do would be just to get a new number.

Have you tried dialing *86 and seeing if there are any voicemails there, or any prompts to set up voicemail? If your phone is not a Verizon phone, then the Verizon-based apps like Visual Voicemail don't work and you'd have to get a 3rd party app for visual voicemail if you want a text version instead of 90s answering machine sort of messaging.

Yea I've tried that. It just asks for the pin but I've never had one. The only strange post is when someone calls and gets sent to voicemail they also get the same message. Not this person does not have a voicemail set up.

When I use the verizon assistant to reset the pin they kinda glitch out and hang up on me.

Have you tried logging into your My Verizon account and trying to either create or reset your voicemail PIN from there?

I found this on the Verizon website regarding resetting the voicemail PIN. In your case, it sounds like whomever set up your line when you first signed up with Verizon didn't walk you through the voicemail setup process, so the PIN never got created. Note that the voicemail PIN is NOT the same as your account PIN. The account PIN is a code used to verify it's you if you call Verizon for assistance, so ignore the one link about account PIN.
