keep getting text from IC system? is this real?

got one that said:

”You'll rcv acct msgs from I.C. System, Inc. - Debt Collector. # of msgs varies by acct. Msg&DataRatesMayApply. ?'s call *****. T&C's https://s-url.pro/Fy36L To optout reply STOP”

and then another shortly after from same number:

Getting a tax refund? Settle your Verizon Wireless account with IC System Debt Collector for 50% at pay.icsystem.com (Ref#*****) or Call *****. To optout txt STOP

these are coming from a number 35423

If your account is in good standing I would consider this PHISHING and report it or ignore it.

I've not heard of a collections agency cutting a debt by 50% if an account goes to collections, nor asking for your tax refund. Sounds pretty fishy to me. I wouldn't call that number or tap the link.

If My Verizon doesn't show anything indicating that you owe this money to Verizon, then that text is phishing, and I'd report it by forwarding it to SPAM (7726) and block the sender. I have never heard of a debt collector offering to reduce a debt by 50% because debt collectors are only in the business of getting people to pay up on their bills. It's a completely different kind of business which works on debt consolidation/lowering.
