Voicemail greeting access to listen and change from my own phone! Why is it impossible?

I have tried all the suggestions in this forum and after googling how to listen and change my voicemail greeting from the same phone. Why has Verizon made this impossible to do? Why does Verizon not want their customers to be able to access their own voicemail greetings to check them and to change them as needed?

Are you talking about the *86 voicemail, or some other voicemail app? If you have multiple voicemail apps, you have to make edits to all of the apps separately otherwise one app will have your updates and the others won't.

I only have one voicemail. *86 takes me to my messages and other stuff. I just want to hear my greeting, and change it as needed.

With my *86 voicemail, after signing in with the PIN, I press 4, then 3 for getting to the greeting message settings.

Yes, I am aware that I can change greetings by following those steps. Why can't I listen to my current greeting in order to determine if I need to change my greeting? I have 1(one) phone and one number.

I was able to listen to my personalized greeting after pressing those buttons. After pressing 4, then 3, then it asks something like "To change your personal greeting, press 3" and when I did that, it first plays the customized greeting and says if you want to keep it the way it is, press [something] and if you want to change the greeting, press [something else].

I am aware that I can listen to CUSTOMIZED GREETINGS. I want to listen to ANY GREETING, BE IT CUSTOM OR STANDARD.

What does it sound like? Male or female? What words are said? Is it polite or CURT?

This is ridiculous! Why can't I just listen to MY voicemail greeting on my phone that I paid for? Why can't I listen to ALL voicemail greeting options AND the current greeting that I have, be it "standard or personalized "?
