Ex-boyfriend added phone to account

My daughter was getting out of an abusive relationship, and the day she moved out her ex-boyfriend added his phone to her account… not sure how they let that happen but now she owes $1000 and can’t get him off her account because he has bad credit. Verizon is making her pay off his phone and service.

My daughter didn’t add him or his new device to her account the ex-boyfriend did. We still haven’t figured that part out, the agent at the Verizon store confirmed, the ex-boyfriend walked in got the phone added it to her account and no one ever asked or checked with my daughter. Yes. This is Verizon’s fault.

Your daughter ought to file a fraud claim with Verizon, and if that doesn't solve the problem, I'd file a complaint with an outside source. The ex-boyfriend must've had your daughter's personal information and/or login credentials to her Verizon account. Change all the passwords and enable 2FA on everything, or use an authenticator app to login to stuff.
