Had a Verizon Fios router (I think CR1000) previously rented for $18/month. Hooked up to that router was a Google Nest setup which enabled faster service to all levels of a 4 level townhouse.
Replaced the rental Verizon router with a purchased Fios G3100 and connected the Google Nest devices with their own network. The speeds in the home seem similar to the old setup using the new router and the Google Nest wifi network. However, the new router label shows a Verizon wifi network with a different name than that printed on the new router. I cannot access a network with that name since I don’t have the password. When I tried using the Verizon information on the router label to set up a new wifi network, it does not work. Overall, this really doesn’t matter since I always use the Google wifi network anyway but wonder why I can’t directly access a Verizon network as printed on the router label. Any thoughts?
