Extra charges for single seniors

Hello everyone. I understand Verizon's attempt to make their services affordable for everyone by using an accross the board, lump sum-fee. However, as a single line user over 70 years old, on a very limited income, I am being charged an extra $10/month just because I am all alone (I no longer have my husband or any children) There are seniors out there living on social security who cannot afford to carry the expense of providing a phone and service to all the folks who want one. Also, I have never used 2GB of data in the over 30 years I've had a mobile device. I live in NY state and have a mortgage, taxes and very high monthly expenses, all on less than $3000/month. My dad worked for "ma bell" for 30 years. Let's re-think those plans & service charges. How about a loyalty discount?

We can certainly appreciate wanting to keep costs low. While our plans don't have extra charges just for a single line, the rates do decrease due to the discounts of having multiple lines. We offer multiple plans though and can absolutely understand wanting to get the best deal possible. We are sending over a private message to look at your plan with you and see if there is a better fit.

Don't know what kind of phone you have, but if it's a flip phone which doesn't use the internet, have you considered using the prepaid Talk & Text (only) plan? Even if you have a smartphone, if you only use very tiny amounts of data each month, there's a 15 gig prepaid plan which would suit your needs and budget better than a postpaid line.

I have answered you 4 times now and offered times when I am available to discuss the plans available to people over 65 that show Verizon cares about senior citizens. Never got any reply . Deb158

CS is outsourced and it's a bunch of different people at different times posting in these forums. If you want a response through the forums, your best bet is to send a private message to @vzw_customer_support
and stay logged into your forum account while watching for your PM envelope to show a new message notification. Then you have to click the link they send you in the PM to authenticate your account.

I've found it faster to be logged into My Verizon, and use the live chat function. Type "live agent" to get a real person.
