Signal extender

We recently upgraded our iPhone to 16 Pro and hoped our home area signal would increase. Although it didn't, the salesperson said Verizon would check out the signal at our home and give us an extender if they deemed it substandard.

How do I get this process started? We have tiny locations around our property that can make and receive calls, but we have chronic dropped calls. Thank you in advance for your help.

Sorry to hear your service is that bad. Poor signal strength is a network issue, not a phone issue. I don't know what the process is for getting a free network extender...be careful you aren't charged for one, as they are available for sale on the website. The 4G LTE network extenders Verizon uses need a cable internet connection to work.

Have you looked into whether or not the other guys work any better? I am assuming your new iPhone 16 Pro may still be locked to Verizon if it's been less than 60 days since you upgraded, which would mean you can't do the free trials the competition offers, but you could try asking the neighbors who they use.

You're welcome. I just looked at the coverage map and noticed there's a river nearby. Verizon and water don't get along well as I've read numerous posts from people living close to bodies of water reporting signal strength issues. Considering the ZIP code in question comes up as a 5G UW coverage area otherwise, makes me think the river is interfering with your signal.

iPhones still have the capability to manually select the band used. Have you tried switching your phone to LTE only to see if that helps with your reception? If it's still awful, then you will have to look into getting a Verizon network extender (if you have cable internet service at home), investing in a 3rd party signal booster system compatible with Verizon, using WiFi and WiFi Calling while at home, or switching carriers.

Thanks for sharing those details with us, Nosignal3. I know how important it is to have a reliable signal when you need it. Truthfully, there are various factors that can impact your signal indoors that are outside of our control, like large bodies of water. How far away from your home must you travel before your signal improves? Do you have Wi-Fi available at your home?
