Unlocking phone

Good morning everyone. I want to know if someone can help me with unblocking my phone. I bought my phone from amazon (the oficial amazon store) and it was supposed to be unlocked. It came locked and Amazon offered my to give it back but I couldnt because I needed the phone at that time. The phone came with Verizon as a carrier, so I checked the unlocking conditions and i saw that after 60 days the phone will be unlocked automatically. When i went to purchase a plan I asked in the Verizon store about he unlocking and I was told the same. Now 60 days have passed, my phone is not unlocked and I cant reach verizon now, because I am in Argentina and I dont have a plan. The phone is fully paid. Does someome know what can I do or who can I speak to?

I've never seen an instance in which a phone purchased from a 3rd party overseas could be unlocked. This is a very common problem with second-hand phones.

Thanks for reaching out Samir_16. The 60 day period you are referencing to unlock a device is for devices purchased directly through Verizon, not a third party such as Amazon. If the device is currently locked you will need to work back with the seller of the device.

I don't recommend using a 3rd party unlocking service. These are shady and will either break the phone outright, or even if the phone still works afterward, will eventually brick itself. It could even be the reason why the OP's phone is still locked to begin with; there are situations in which a phone becomes permanently locked.

Hello everyone. Thanks for answering.
I forgot to mention I purchased the phone from the amazon oficial store, and the seller in the publication was Samsung, so it was not a random person selling me the phone. I am already back in Argentina so returning it is not an option. I contacted a Verizon Executive via mail, but they told me they cannot unlock my phone. Legally I think only the phone carrier can unlock phones, but since they have a rigid politic then I am screwed. . I dont know if this policiy will change over time or what I can do to use the phone i Bought here in my country.

Even without a plan, you can reach Verizon’s customer support via their international contact number, +1-908-559-4899 (toll charges may apply), or through their website at verizon.com/support/contact-us. Explain that your phone was purchased fully paid, has met the 60-day unlocking requirement, and is still locked. Provide the phone’s IMEI (dial *#06# to find it) and proof of purchase if possible.
