I have 3 lines, we share 2gb data.

One line was my late husband's, it's inactive but we are not ready to disconnect it. The other 2 lines belong to my son and I. I have unlimited talk and text. Neither one of us are big phone users. A couple of texts and calls per day and we don't use more than the data we have as we use Wi-Fi at home or wherever, with data turned off. So here is my question...why is my bill a different amount EVERY month? I have my own phones, and we don't order anything or have insurance or anything. How can my bill be different every time? I can't get a straight answer. And also, has anyone else experienced them giving you a discount, but then raising the price the next month? I about ready to buy a tracfone for the amount I use my phone....I'm fed up.

Hi, there were a few discussions several months ago about Verizon increasing the prices on legacy plans and/or changing the autopay discount depending on what plan you have. My opinion only, but I'm speculating that Verizon wants everybody to pay more or less in the same ballpark to access the network on postpaid service.

If all you have is 2 gigs of data, that's not much at all and must be a pretty old plan? With modern apps often running in the background and texting often being encrypted (RCS) - if you are texting in RCS format, that is counted towards your data use, and not texting usage. Don't know what texting app you use, but on such a small data allotment, I'd make sure you're texting in the older SMS/MMS format to avoid burning up all your data. If you go over your data allowance, the extra, varying, charges could be for data overages?

If you aren't a heavy phone user, have you considered converting the 2 lines you use to prepaid service? I'm a prepaid customer and have the 15gig plan and it's less than $40/month for one line even factoring in taxes and fees. For 2 lines I'm pretty sure you get a discount. Unlimited prepaid is $50/month for one line plus taxes and fees, I'd have to think it's less for 2 lines. You do have to deal with constant deprioritization on prepaid, because all the postpaid customers have better tower priority, but if you don't live on your phone...
